can anyone please help me with this problem:

i want to do variable speed changes to a nested sequence. it doesnt work in fcp 6. and i dont want to export to animation because my channel doesnt turn out the same way. i done some chromakeying and matte choker on a hdv sequence.
is there any plugins that can do this or a workaround in fcp?
besides, if i export to animation and then import, the file turns out too big to handle...

any problemsolvers?

thanks

thanks for answering captain.

well, yes. i have loaded the nested sequence in the viewer, and then click on motion and time remap. then the field where i can change between variable and constant is blank. i tried the modify menu as well. doing variable speed is simply not an option, and that pisses me off!

so, if i export it, then i will have the option of variable speed, but i cant export it because of the following work...

any ideas?

thanks

You are correct.

Export is the only option. You say this is an alpha channel track? Why is animation not an option for you? Size??? Really?

yes. the size becomes too big... and other than that my chromakey channel with matte choker doesnt turn out the same way after export. looks fine before export, but turns out undefined after... and it seems difficult to repair when i import it again...

also, after i imported the animation i cannot even play it for a while before the RT goes nuts, and when i click on the RT button on the timeline, it is not the same as before. says use playbase quality and full quality as only options... why does the RT change like this?

AND, the edges on my animation get saw-edges, something it didnt have before export-import....

aaaah, many problems....

well, hope to get some further tips...

thanks
