Real esate stager wants time lapse of proejct.
Before and after with all the movement in between,---like that "Trading Spaces" show on TLC.
Anybody have any experience in this area with DVX.
Thanks,
Last year I did a time lapse project using the capture program scenalyzer( http://www.scenalyzer.com/ ) which lets you to a tapeless time-lapse. The camera is turned on and the data is streaming over the firewire. Scenalyzer captures every nth frame, depending on the setting you choose.
I did my capture with my old Sony VX2000, however, not the DVX, so I'm not sure if there are any differences to watch out for. (And right now I'm a little busy to hook it up and try.) But the time lapse turned out well and I think using scenalyzer saved some wear and tear on the camera's head by avoiding all of those starts and stops.
Alternatively, you can record to tape and use Scenalyzer to do a Time Lapse in the capture phase of things. It doesn't care whether the data it's capturing is live or taped.
i don't know what editor your using but premiere pro lets you change the speed and i have done some great time lapses of circuses setting up and tearing down.
the trick for longer ones is to put the camera in EXACTLY the same place with the same amount of focus.
normally this could be tricky but if you use dvrack it lets you show whats already on the tape with a split screen.
i haven't tried it yet for time lapse, but i imagine this would make it quite a bit easier.
1. mark your tripod positiion
2. write down your lens settings (zoom and focus)
3. if possible use dv rack for fine tuning
