TIME LAPSE with LIGHTS STREAMING

Hi everyone,

trying to figure out how to do a time lapse of the highway where the lights of the cars looks like streaks of light. Is it when you pull down your shutter speed so that it opens longer and I will get that effect when lights streak and just speed it up in Post?

Thanks!

Thats not really a time lapse, but what you mention about the shutter speed is correct. You will have to compensate with the other settings so the image isnt too bight. Also you will need a big tripod and maybe a remote shutter release, as any wobble in the camera will ghost the image.

Long Shutter Speed. Small Aperture (iris) essentially the same way you take a picture like that. Tripod for sure.

Save some money and just use the built-in timer ;)

Remote shutters can come in handy if you're making an actual timelapse with a DSLR, though.

Frame rate hack

2fps

350 degree shutter

You do know how to implement the frame rate hack, correct?

Dan

No, I'm not familiar with the frame rate hack. I have/t been using the HD much in my P2 coz of budgets restrictions but none the less, what it is? what does this do exactly?
