I was wondering if anyone could let me know how to get a good looking time lapse shot going from day to night?

I'm with Taylor on this one. Day to night timelapse was always a problem on film. Changing exposures, and changing color temperatures. Auto exposure, and auto white balance help smooth it out on video.

it depends, if you capture the footage like 5 frames a second, you may still see the stop up. You could get a mattbox with an gradient ND filter, and as the sun gets higher or lower, will have less cover on it. What I would reccomend is to set your iris and all that jaz at the moment where you want it to look best and let it ride. I doubt the auto exposure is going to work. I have tried it w/ no success.
