Time lapse from video plugin?

So I shot some video with my GH1 and I was curious if there is an way to simulate time lapse with it? My theory was to just pull out one frame every X amount of time and stitch them together. But that would take a ton of time and I was curious if there was a plugin that could achieve this?
 
you can try to go into the clip properties, disable resample, increase the playback rate and lower the undersample rate (try 0.100) then use a velocity envelope to speed it up even more. if it needs to be faster, save the project, nest it and speed that up or pre-render it to an uncompressed or lossless codec and speed that up even more.
