Time lapse awareness

No, no timelapse videos here... For you that don't know it, I code for leaving, so this days I'm working on a flicker removal algorithm and want to integrated into an application that joins stills creating a time lapse sequence.

Well, I really don't know what to ask, but I'm looking some information from time-lapse experts on what would be useful in such an app. What I have as top most is easy of use and complete automation.

Ideas, inquiries post here.

I usually don't have too many flicker problems shooting with a dslr and full manual exposure (including WB).

What would be nice for me would be a automatic exposure match, so that when i had no option but to change the exposure, the software can smooth out the step change over a chosen number of frames. Preferably as an AE plug-in ;-)

Not sure if this is the kind of thing you are thinking about?

Ok, some ideas fom a guy that does TL with his D200.

Maybe a facility to crop to a desired frame size.

Ability to compile a sequence with every nth frame (user specified)

An option to choose a specific area of the frame for locking the exposure. User defines size, *shape*, and location of area.

Yes basically a flicker removal algorithm or compensation algorithm, does just that, balancing the exposure with estimations made from "neighbor" frames.

Barry, your suggestions have been written to the todo list.
Now I'm looking into using DirectX for display accelaration.

So far, I can achieve real time playback with 15004x1000 size images, haven't try it with bigger sizes but it will work as long the computer has enough memory.

Anyway, I would like to ask if anyone can contribute a hi-res sequence of images so I can use for testing purposes, nothing else.
If anyone is interest PM me.

Hey Steve,

I'll upload a sequence that has some flicker for you to test. I'll put it somewhere you can FTP it from.
