Time Code is Not working right

I posted this message in another board but thought this one might be more appropriate:

Every stop and start point on my tape is creating a break in the time code when I capture it into FCP.  For example, if I do a capture that involves more than one take, FCP will not capture all the takes into one clip, but rather, create another clip for every start and stop point on the tape.  This is really strange as when I first got my DVX100, all was well.  At one point, after some mysterious TC setting issues, I wasn't getting any TC at all.  Now, after re-setting the TC, I'm getting the problem I just described.  How do I get my camera to record TC so FCP will not separate out each start and stop on the tape?

Thanks

Re: Time Code is Not working right

make sure your timecode is set to regen, and that your evf/lcd always displays the ongoing timecode in the before shooting, if no timecode is there your going to have a timecode break(unless its a new tape). but most people get breaks from when they tale a tape out and put it back in, or shu the cam off and turn it back on , or standby mode sometimes, cause the tape will shuttle forward a bit and lose the timecode somtimes. you can just tap the rewind for about 1 sec on the transport control on the dvx when in cam mode, and it should jump nack to a spot with TC present. just dont go back too far and record over the end of your last take!

iamloser,

Thanks, that worked well and I seem to be able to capture one clip with multiple tape stops after some tests.

This board rules.
