Tilt Shift lens effect

Spent the whole afternoon messing around with tilt shift effects in AE. Have a look:

I think the City Hall one is the most effective in making objects look miniature, but I'm only 75% happy. I wonder what else I can do to improve them.

They all look pretty decent. But the third looks weird as you can see the hard transition from out-of to in-focus. Soften that up to make it look better.

This is pretty topical for me as I currently have my Tilt Shift project open.
Something doesn't feel right about the clips. I think it needs strong color correction. Good practice though...I'll post mine soon for critique
