Tiffen filter kit

Only difference I can see is that the more expensive kit uses Water White Glass, while the less expensive kit uses ColorCore Glass.

From the Tiffen websit:
Tiffen uses the highest quality Water White Glass that contains an anti-glare and anti-reflective coating. This glass reduces the greenish tint sometimes common in standard glass. Water White Glass permits accurate color transmission. It is clear to the eye and is characterized by an optically pure composition that delivers the highest caliber of image possible.

If White Water Glass really does make a noticable reduction in reflections, then yes, it's worth a higher price (but almost double?).
Ah .... another difference: The more expensive kit is an "Indie" filter kit. I assume that refers to "Independent Production" and not to "Indiana Jones", but who knows?

Yes I agree if it's really worth 2x the price

should check this out, probably explains the diff. really good:

well i am in the same situation right now (looking for some ND) and a really nice DVXuser suggested getting a IR filter that you keep on your lens to kill the IR that screws up your image (gets muddy etc, especially change in skin tones) to get clean images then go for some good vari ND filters though I m still looking for some good Vari ND stuff any suggestions? Would be awesome to get 3 "levels" 1)cheapo 50-100$ 2)middle 200-400 3)crazy i have too much money (or a pro ^^) 500+ (if there is any vari ND)

last time i heared variND tends to be of lower quality but there must be some good stuff out there (hope this isnt hijacking, we both in the same boat, right? ^^ if so please ignore my questions)

For vari I think helipad for $275 is the best deal
And with the tiffen kit I will either get normal indie or ir indie
what do you think?
