A newbie answer (or open question in response; maybe the regular in-studio video guys could help?)-- Wouldn't it be pretty simple to jury-rig any tie-bar to hold a lav with some stress relief incorporated? (Just wondering if this might suffice due to the "desperate"/emergent nature of the situation).

Two words, 'Trew Audio'. In Toronto, Vancouver & Nashville ) I'd be very surprised if they didn't have them in stock.

As Greg suggested .. just about any cable-clip clip would work, but then where ya gonna get that.
