Thunderbolt Display on Mac Pro

So I bought the new Thunderbolt Display with my new Macbook Pro and it works perfect on it. The problem is that I thought there would be a connection to my Mac Pro early 2009 as well, but there isn't. Now I see that the Apple store says it only works on machines with a Thunderbolt connection.

But I am in doubt what to do now. Wait for a Mac Pro TB GPU upgrade kit to become available and then it might work or exchange it for the old Cinema Display that will definitely work, but then miss the HD camera and really sweet connection to the macbook pro.

Help me out? :-)

Unfortunately, there's a reason Apple is still selling the Cinema Display, and that reason is the Mac Pro, mainly. So I wouldn't hold your breath for the ability to connect a T-Bolt Display to the Mac Pro. I also haven't heard of anyone in development of a Thunderbolt GPU Kit, but it may be in the works somewhere.

If you need a display that works with both systems, the Cinema is your only Apple choice right now.

Yeah I'd suggest sitting tight- there will likely be a Thunderbolt Mac Pro or a Thunderbolt enabled graphics card for old Mac Pros sometime sooner or later.

Does it not work with Display Port? Thunderbolt is supposed to be compatible with Display Port for your display.
