Thoughts on Autodesk Smoke and all-in-one tools?

I rarely hear anything on various video production forums about Autodesk Smoke for Mac. I would have thought it would be a little more popular than it appears to be for what it does and the price. Just kind of curious as to the reasons that people are not using it? Personally, I don't somewhat due to the price still being just a little beyond what I can justify, but more because I don't use Mac and I find the Autodesk EULA kind of insulting and creepy. I doubt those really explain why others are not using it though. Is it still too expensive? Do people just not have an interest in an all in one edit/composite/finish tool? With the increasing connectedness of Adobe applications, is that just a more attractive option?

I'd personally like to see a tool like this from The Foundry, since I use modo a lot. It might be interesting to see Blackmagic further develop Resolve into this type of a tool since it sort of seems to be headed in that direction.
