It's not hard to tell at all. Just look at the eyes. I told you guys I was trying to be light.

Re: This will cheer you up:

I disagree. I can't tell anything from those few frames. In fact, I can't see his eyes. Is that supposed to be my clue?

Since you're on the soapbox... enlighten us won't you?

I'm sorry if my ignorance offends but I've no clue what you're alluding to.

Re: This will cheer you up:

Terry I'm not offended! Down kids have these eyes that are universal. I can't think of the T.V. show that had a character called "Corkey" And they are all different. At different learning levels. When I worked with them for a theater program it didn't matter if they where 6 or 60 they were all kids. You will never know the feeling when this "Kids" get to know you on a regular base's They show there affection by hugging you as tight as they can and drooling on you the same time. It is gross at first. Then you realize they totally love you. Unlike there parents who seldom visited them. We used to call them "Angels" in disguise!

Re: This will cheer you up:

So, he is a Downs Syndrome child? I'm confused because I thought you said he was not a Downs child(?).

Either way, I certainly don't want to make fun of someone who has such struggles in life. There, but for the grace of God, go I.

Re: This will cheer you up:

No he is not a down's kid. Just overweight ala our food politics. The good news is the kid can get better with proper nutrition! A down's kid is always a kid! But at different levels!

Re: This will cheer you up:

That kid doesn't appear to be a Downs... but downs are the most loving, happy people I've ever known in my life. My mother is a speech pathologist and works with many of them... Elvis is right, they are angels in disguise.

This clip just had me laughing because it's random, and it's a plump little kid dancing on a couch. I guess it's funnier when you have a rap mp3 playing in the background ;)

Am I the only one who is freaked out by this??... it scares the crap out of me!

Re: This will cheer you up:

If he's simply a jolly fat boy, then there are worse things he could be, huh?

I have a younger cousin who looked very much like that (sizewise) when he was that age. He was shy and often teased by others his age.

Fortunately, for reasons that we don't need to get into... he was adopted by his much older sister when he was in 7th grade. She took him to see doctors, got him eating healthy and involved in sports.

Over the next several years, he lost the fat and grew rather tall. He also excelled in sports. He was the valedictorian of his class upon graduation.

This Fall he will finish his internship on his way to building his own practice as a podiatrist.
