This website look professional enough?

Okay, I REALLY want to thank everyone for their input, and have tried to address most, if not all of the comments & feedback that was given.

Please take a look at the site now, and let me know what other improvements need to be made.

It's been a mixed bag between those who think the site layout (template) looked cool & professional, and those who thought it just reaked of low end templates ... but, for the sake of not recreating the wheel, or going with just another template, I've stuck with the current design.

Unless someone wants to doctor another template (my next favorite was the man/fish one I posted a link to on the previous couple pages), and or wants to make me CSS friendly (I gave up trying how to figure that out) ... then I'm stuck with this.

Last thing I'll probably add is a order link via PayPal, but otherwise I'd really like to talk to each person directly & hand hold every project through, to ensure no miscommunications, errors, etc ... that's why there's not the more automated section that some sites may have.

Look forward to any further thoughts on the fix(es)!

Norm,

Yea, it's much better...especially having REAL text, not images of text :) Since you want to have direct communication for each order instead of automated shopping cart/payment gateway, perhaps you could have a "Request For Quote" form to gather the basic information from the potential customer and then you could contact them to complete the transaction.

I'll modify the existing template to use CSS for you, but it'll be a few days before I can get to it. I just finished the base layout for my site using CSS and it is great for removing all the formatting from the content and keeping them separate.

Peace,
Larry

Hey Norm,

I had to check it out! Looks really cool man! I'll hook up that flash banner as soon as I can squeeze it in. Send me those PNG's when your ready!

Wow, Larry & Hank, thanks! I don't know what to say but THANK YOU! :)

Larry, most of what you said went over my head, but I'll look forward to figuring out how to implement whatever you're doing. As far as the form to collect information, that's over my head as well. Throw me in front of Vegas to cut something, and I feel very confident ... throw me back in Dreamweaver, and I'm trying to just keep afloat enough to breathe. :)

Norm, no problem...you have helped me out a lot so it is the least I can do (although I won't turn down a little discount in the future :D ). I'll also give you an example of what I mean by a form, and how to process it, etc, etc.

Sounds like someone needs to make the Vegas Web Editor! :D

Did you get my e-mail Friday, the one where I explained the CSS stuff to you (my e-mail has gone silent from everywhere, I'm concerned the problem is back).

No problem Norm! Glad to be of service to you. Briceman told me that you're a nice guy and nice guys deserve to win sometimes! WORD!?

Briceman and I work together just so you know:Drogar-BigGrin(DBG)

I also like the discount idea!:)

Great, I can see Norm's head swelling already....that's enough Norm, you're not that nice of a guy

You might be right Larry. He hasn't said anything about the logos I made for him on the "make me a logo" thread. I guess we'll have to wait and see...

?? What are you talking about?! Where's this thread? K', I'll get off my lazy butt & look, but I've not known anything was created.

Otherwise, you guys KNOW I'd have commented! :)

Thanks, PK. I've got a domain, it's just not pointing to that folder yet ... I'll have to contact tech support & figure out what's wrong.

I've also got to create a banner for DVXuser to advertise with Jarred ... HOPING it's worth it & brings in the business. :)

Looks much, much better. I'd still like to see a little more color variance in there, but it's a huge improvement. I have one very quick fix for you now... right in your header you have the wrong grammar:

DVD Duplication At Its Finest (no apostrophe)

I wouldn't nitpick, but since it's right under your company name I figure you might want to get it right. :)

After I typed all of the following I realized you were saying to take the apostrophe out....sorry dougspice :embarasse ....but I am leaving the info because it may be useful to someone.

dougspice - sorry, but I have to disagree with you. "It's" is a contraction of "it is" or "it has". "Its" is a possesive pronoun meaning "of it" or "belonging to it".

A Simple Test
If you can replace "It[']s" in your sentance with "it is" or "it has", then your word is "it's", otherwise your word is "its".

Another Test
"Its" is the neuter version of "his" or "hers". Try plugging "her" into your sentence where you think "its" belongs. If the sentence still works grammatically (if not logically) then your word is indeed "its".

EDIT: And I just read Larry's post and went of that, lol.

yep

it's a sunny day
it rubs the lotion on its skin

are correct

it's is like who's
who's coming to dinner
(contractions)

and
its is like whose
whose shoes are those
(possesive pronouns)

I think I was like a hundred when I figured that out though.
