This NEC monitor for color correction?

I have been eying that one as well as the 30. I was content after my research, but haven't bought yet. This is a good Q for the experts but maybe you'll have better luck in Hardware?

Video color space is not the same as Adobe RGB. Very few computer monitors can properly display video color space, and even then, it's complicated to feed them the signal in a way that will let you do it accurately. A proper video monitor, connected to a proper video out will give much more accurate results with much greater ease.

NEC MultiSync PA271W-BK-SV 27" Widescreen LCD Monitor with SpectraViewII Color Calibration Solution

It says it offers "97.1% Coverage of AdobeRGB Color Space" - does it benefit video color correction? - because the reviews are mostly by photographers.

I have this monitor. Honestly, it gets you about 97% of the way there. Not a replacement for a $7,000 video monitor, but keep it calibrated and you'll be happy. Make sure you get the hood as well. B&H had it hidden on their website somewhere, so it's worth a call.
