At least three dead in knife attack on China school

The attack is the latest in a string of assaults on schools to send shockwaves across China.
At least five major attacks took place at schools from March to May this year, killing 17 people -- including 15 children -- and injuring more than 80.
Two attackers have already been executed and two others committed suicide. The fifth suspect was sentenced to death in June.

I am sickened by this. I've been following this in the news since it first began and now it just seems like there is no end to it.
If I was a parent in China I think I would seriously consider some form of home schooling, regardless of cost.

It's incredibly cowardly. Cowards perpetrate crime on children.

I don't see any wisdom in targeting children to get attention. The people doing this stuff are protesting the "new world" they live in... showing the highest disdain for unwelcome changes in their society... HOWEVER... even if that was the point they wanted to make... who is going to side (or even consider) the perspective of anyone who takes such a coward's route?

If I were in those shoes, and really cared about all that old world tradition I wouldn't paint it with a broad stroke of unsophisticated, cowardly savagery.
 
I really just don't understand it. A guy who flies his plane into the IRS, I understand on some level, if not condone. Even a guy who goes postal at work, I can understand psychologically. But someone who vents his frustration at society by killing kindergarten children, I just don't understand, at all. I don't understand how those two things connect, what rage that act satisfies. Mystifying.
 
The sad thing is that it has caught on, so some insane people are obviously siding with them.

What can they do to stop this? It's almost impossible to stop someone who is willing to die for their 'cause'.

As I said... the "logic"... if you can call it that... is a protest against "the new world"... as traditional China is fading away and being replaced and built-up with modern China. I've been there and seen it... the whole mood of economic worry didn't exist there... it's only booming development that's "choking out" all the old world culture. It's turning into Space-Age-Japanese-Mexico... where you can work your butt off as part of that machine... or try to live out your years accepting the death of the old world culture.

Some people snap.

The problem is... the crime with cowardice. I can't see how it helps the issue to target children... that just tells everybody the criminal was of weak body and mind. It doesn't help your cause to tell the world it's better off w/o your kind of citizens. *shrug*
