this is considered comedy?

Looking for a woman
out of curiosity i thought i'd take a look at the comedian section on youtube to see who gets the most subscriptions. it turns out that this guy is in the top 5 all time. could someone please explain how in the bloody hell this is possible?

Too many people aren't taking THEIR meds. btw, you just added to his count by sending me there...I feel so dirty...:cheesy:

it just blows my mind, this guy is the most viewed comedian this month on youtube. he has over 8 MILLION more views than the 2nd place comedian! who are these people?

[Recognizing ugafan's jealousy and sensitive ego, Terry steps forward with the following post]

Yeah, you're right...

Does it suddenly get funny after the first forty seconds? That's about as much as I could take...

...although I am admittedly widely-known as a humorless git.

You know ugafan, I think my life would have been somehow fuller if I had not clicked on that link. I must now try to move on, watch Bill Murray or something. Wish me luck.

Hmmm...ten seconds in and I glanced a a shiny blue pen on my desk. I thought to myself, "Is it time? Is this really what it's come to?" and then the video paused for buffering which knocked me out of my near unconscience state enough to close out the damn window. Not funny for my tastes.

well I didn't laugh. More scary than funny. Kinda of entertaining in a "watch the train wreck" sorta way.

ummm ... his age, the age of most of the youtubers who think this is funny, the fact that he sounds like south park (the incredible fact that at my age I know what south park sounds like !!!) ... saints preserve us.

Maybe you guys are just too old to get it.

Perhaps Fred is a genius who speaks to his generation, something you older guys just can't do. You can't make them laugh, or think or feel because you are not part of their generation.

Perhaps you have lost the ability to truly speak to young people. To truly"get" a younger generation is a difficult and special thing that surprisingly few people are gifted with.

If you could see Fred's ability, perhaps your videos on youtube might have millions of views and nearly 150 thousand subscribers eagerly awaiting your next film.

Either that, or youtube is not a place for the smart, the genuine or the talented. Perhaps as marshal mcluhan and neil postman mused; that different forms of media are appropriate for different forms of "knowledge", that the internet is appropriate for the very worst the world has to offer. The very bottom rung, bargain-basement entertainment that we as a global culture can excrete.

Either way guys, this video signals a very bad day for us all.

i think you guys are over thinking it. I don't think its and old/young thing, i think some people appreciate that stuff some dont. And we all know that quality and number of views are not the same thing. I think he has more going on than you guys are giving him credit for, but I'm going to doubt that anyone will be talking about this video in 2 years.

I'd hardly say the old/young thing is "overthinking" it, that doesn't require too much thinking... In any case, rook is right. I work with HS students on a weekly basis, and most of them would think this is hilarious. Not genius or "smart" by any means, but for whatever reason young people are much more amused by super-stupid humor than older people, and often times more amused by it than they are by smart humor. (key here is, more appreciative of smart humor, but often more AMUSED by the stupid humor).
