I am using 5.1.4..in my timeline when i use the pen tool to draw opacity (fade) everytime it is making my clip above or below to jitter...only where the pen tool edit occurs...i am using footage from my HVX200...this has never happened before...done this on multiple projects in the past...i removed all filters and still happens...any ideas...

P.S When i highlight the clip, on the bottom leftt hand corner it shows the beginnig of the clip, and if i arrow over 1, it shows the end in the bottom left...if that helps at all...hope i explained it ok for some help

Thank you

It might have to do with the FCP display engine. Does this happen to the exported quicktime files? Or just while editing in the timeline?

thanks for responding. I exported it as a QT, and no the jitter does not appear. Very frustrating because I have never seen this before...

I have seen this sometimes happen to me when I have video clips on several tracks.

Are the clips fully rendered? Do you see red, green or blue line on the top of the timeline?

If you see green, do this: File > Print to Video and let it render

after it's done (and the top line is blue), it should be fine.

Hope that helps.

yes the clips are fully rendered...one thing i forgot to mention the clips are in slo motion...but still that has never happened in the past

"This has never happened before..."

I don't know how many times I've had to say that. . . wait a sec, what are we talking about?

Go to the Sequence menu and make sure in Render and Render Select ALL levels of render are selected. If not, you are not getting full renders. It sound exactly like a render/playback issue.

Also set your RT to Safe.
