Well... it's never been done with zombies.

Thank you Daniel Myrick. Thanks JJ Abrams.

From the guy that started the zombie genre, comes the most unoriginal film yet.

On a positive note, some nice cast/cameos. Guillermo del Toro, Stephen King, Quentin, Wes Craven, Simon Peg.

I just have to remember to wear my gyroscopic underwear to the theater.

They should just release these movies straight to YouTube, as that's probably the best way to enjoy them.

No need to thank Abrams, this film has been a concept of Romero, since prior to the Dawn remake.

Cloverfield and Diary of the Dead ended up looking pretty different as a final product, even though conceptually they sound the same. Cloverfield was easily believable as an amateur video, while (unfortunately) Diary was far too cinematic. Maybe thats a sigh of relief for those who were sick through Cloverfield, but I think those individuals are going to end up feeling cheated by Romero.

Thanks for the thread link. I searched "Diary" and didnt see anything. I didnt realize it would go back 1.5 years.

Huh?...I know of no camcorder that shoots near film quality HD in 7.1 Surround Sound and gives almost perfect exposure and focus in any lighting situation...to an SD card!!!

Now that I think of it, if the whole film came from one camera's SD card, the whole conceit of the film makes no sense right off the bat. When you stop and start a camera with an SD card, it writes a new file, so you wouldn't really watch it all at once like a tape. And you can't record over something with an SD card and have snippets of what was underneath bleed through. With a tape camcorder that makes sense, but not an SD card, which the opening sequence said the footage came from.

As mentioned earlier by somebody in the Cloverfield thread, it was probably transferred to SD after the camera was found in the park.

But I'm really glad we got some apparent spoilers in this thread. I guess avoiding the Cloverfield thread once the film opened was for not.
