I'm looking to put in images and have it zoom in and out. an example would be the gang of four video, you can view it at http://www.vimeo.com/3743287 please let me know how i can do this using final cut pro. the project is due tomorrow and this is the only effect i must add.

Very simple. import the stills, then use keyframing to change the size over time. Use images that have perhaps up to 4x your 'video' resolution, so that when you zoom in , the image doesn't pixelate. Also as you may note they don't zoom for 'hours', but mostly about 1 sec or so. So, I think that may be perhaps 30%-50% change, depending on the area of interest that you are trying to highlight. (like in the clip various people are 'centered' then zoom in or out.

SO for example I'd change the ratio frame by frame and insert it in that way? Or is keyframing an actual effect?

Forgive me, I'm new to FCP.
