Thinking about Switching from Premiere to Resolve but need some questions answered

You could render in Resolve your results to an intermediate codec that Adobe Encore or some other DVD authoring application can read.

well it seems encore only accepts MPEG 2 files and I can't find any other software that lets me use another format. A quick google search indicates MPEG 2 is the DVD standard Format

Not according to this page:

DVD supports MPEG-2 and MPEG-1.

interesting. Anyway, I'm not going to switch fully to resolve. Just found out one of my audio plugins RX6 from Izotope doesn't have direct linking like it does in Adobe Audition. HUGE time savor when I can direct link. I also am able to use my ipad pro to edit video via duet display on my PC and use touch gestures for premiere Pro which is also missing in resolve.

Resolve does seem like a great program for color and I will take my time this summer to fully learn that part of the program and then will delve into fushion at some point. For now I'm going to stick to Adobe CC.

Did you check Resolve 15, there are VST enhancements including virtual instruments?

I downloaded version 15. Even emailed black magic and they said Izotope RX6 isn't fully supported. What I mean by direct linking is in Audition or premeire I can take an audio clip send it to RX6 and then click a button that sends it back into premeire or audition. This does not have a send to RX6 button in resolve 15. Even when I launch the plugin it the info box in RX 6 mentions "The editing software you are using is Not supported to send to RX6"

In order to do it with resolve I have to export the audio, import into RX6 then export back and sync back up. Waste of time when I can do it in seconds in Premiere and Audition. I spend hours editing audio with this plug in and often am working on 6 audio tracks at once in RX 6 then send all of them back

DVD Architect will transcode files to Mpeg 2 for you if they're not already native. Regarding keeping Adobe just in case for old projects, how often are you really having to go back into projects from years ago? If once a year (if that) dump Adobe and just get a one month license when you need it.

Mpeg streamclip app might help with the mpeg conversion, re: NLE’s, ever considered FCPX? Izotope RX runs within it - one off payment avoids the subscription model, I just lease AE from Adobe now for our animators.

I have a PC. I am done with apple. Ditched them years ago. I built my own PC for half the price of an iMac.
