Thinking about buying a PAL DVX, have question

Of course we all know that you need to pan slowly with 24p or else it will be very strobey.

But I see lots of PAL videos on the internet where the camera movies around fast and the motion looks very smooth. Does having only 1 extra frame per second (25p) make that much of a difference? Obfiously I am watching progressive footage since it is being played on the internet, right?

Also, since there are more pixels packed on the PAL DVX is it less sensitive to light than the NTSC DVX?

24p is basically identical to 25p. believe me: it also can be strobey in 25p.

i am not sure about your second question. but i would be really surprised if the PAL DVX would be any different in lightsensitivity. if you are in NTSC-land, i would be wiser to stick with an NTSC camera.

PAL is not 25p. PAL is 50 fields per second, and it renders smooth motion on pans. 25P looks just as strobey as 24p if not panned at proper speeds.
