Ive bought a few decent books that go into product placement, getting probs and copywrite issues etc but theres still some loose ends im interested in finding more about.
Now obviously you cant show logos, like coca cola etc without earned permission however none of these books mention things like clothes!!
Obviously an 'adidas tshirt would be a violation, but what if it didn't have a logo on it? would that be ok? because it may still have those 3 lines going down the sleaves...and isnt that a trademark of its own and even without those stripes someone DESIGNED his pants right??
Again, obviously I couldnt show a BNW logo but what about the car? because isnt that design copywrite protected too?
Also...sounds daft but if the above examples are true how come when I get permission to film somewhere I only need permission of the owner? Why not the architect?
My film 'boy in the adidas tshirt goes to Big Ben in his Bnw' is seeming harder and harder to make into a reality:beer:
