There are are box-office bombs...

Holy crapola! Pretty unbelievable a flick
with a star can can flop that hideously.

I was surprised to learn Sahara made a $121 million loss, was a good movie.

"But it's got nothing on a 2006 independent film, Zyzzyx Road, which is generally held to have the lowest box office result of all time. It was released briefly in one Texas cinema, and took the grand sum of $30."

This isn't entirely true, of the 5 tickets sold two people requested their money back so it grossed $18 :)

Batutta,

My sisters first job out of college in LA was double duty as Renny Harlin & Geena Davis personal assistant starting just in time to witness the Cut Throat Island disaster first hand, that movie took down a whole studio. Both Renny & Geena tried to take her with them during the divorce so she just quit and got a job with a studio. Those were some crazy days.

Ha! I cut a trailer for that movie. They re-titled it Dead Ahead.

My God, I know that road. When I lived in southern Cali, I would drive to Vegas a few times a year and always passed that road (it's literally in the middle of FumBuck California in the Mojave Desert) and have wanted to drive down it just to say I did. But, I was on the way to Vegas after all and since I am a man, its all about making good time.

As for the movie, Tom Sizemore? Katherine Heigl? Solid cast. Go figure.

Ha

True

My bro and I always drive by and swear we are gonna check it out; but then can see the Luxor lights and say 'screw it ...'

Luxor is the only light the space shuttle can see from outer space. One of these days I'm going to get drunk in vegas and take it out with my .50 cal from 1500 yards away with a camera in my other hand filming it.

Uh, this film is a pro-family semi-conservative film and NOT aimed at the Christian audience. Um, fail. LOL. I just don't think it was marketed right. But seriously, if they ran ads for this on FOX News, parenting mags and such it may have made more money. It seems to be a witty conservative type of film and I don't think it plays today. The character has to be having an affair to make her life better or something like that for it to work. That's what the modern ladies are into. Not this pro-motherhood/family stuff. What were they thinking. LOL.
