Theatre production Mics

What mic would anyone recomend for taping a stage production. I was thinking a pzm (will this be enough. Where should it be located. I have an XL2 so i can hook up two mics to the rear for 4 channels.

and then what? you will record 12 bit /32 kHz?not good enough for quality sound .

the number of mikes quit depends on the lengh of the stage , usually you put one mike every 3-4 meters
you can place the mikes on plexi glass( 30cm x 30cm) or any other hard serface and use foam under ( make it try angle to get a little angle ) for better isolation from the footsteps on the stage .
for more then 2 channel bring external recorder or fire wire port to computer to get 16/44.1 at least , sync regularly with clap in the beginning

You didn't mention what type of production it is -- musical or not...also, are the actors already mic'ed? If so, can you plug into the house mixer? How many actors are there? If they are not mic'ed, can you mic them? The reason for this is that you will isolate the actual dialogue better...you won't have as much interference from footsteps, set noises, audience noises, etc. (Especially important if it is a comedy, unless you don't mind losing dialogue to laughter...) Also, you might want to check to see if the stage is already mic'ed (in many theatres now, it is because of the ADA...the theatre has an amplification system for those that are hard of hearing...again, can you plug into a house mixer?

Just a few suggestions...
