The World's Fastest Indian

This was the closing film for the the 2005 Deep Ellum Film Festival in Dallas Texas. Based on a real story. This movie was awesome. I highly recomend seeing it if when it comes to your area.

In `60s New Zealand, at the bottom of the world, Burt Munro takes a 1920 Indian motorcycle and, delightfully without resources other than his own obsession and a Kiwi #8 wire mentality, spends his retirement rebuilding the bike and following his dream to go to Speed Week at Salt Lake in Utah. Under funded, without the support of a team and against all the odds he not only makes it to Bonneville, he sets a world land spend record, not once, but again and again.

Written and Directed by Roger Donaldson
(other Roger Donaldson credits include The Recruit, Thirteen Days, Dante's Peak among others)
Starring Anthony Hopkins

Looks like a great story, but the trailer just seemed... off... disjointed... not very smoothly cut. Just didn't seem to have a good flow. But then, I'm the picky type. ;-)
