The Way

My wife thought it was a wonderful film, she gave the womans pov and loved this tribute to Emilio Estevezos' real grandfather.

Me .. a little schmaltzy, and I thought the location crew must have been minimal, it has a refined doco feel and I got the feeling some scenarios were devised along the way, when they saw the opportunity. EG: The inclusion of Martin Sheens love for James Taylors music in the story, then a track appears over the next scene is very clever.

The international casting is spot on, I think they all contributed to the story because it shows, the nightly crew mealtimes must have been real parties, especially the wrap.

Martin Sheens giant overbite continues to amaze me, his diction is still very clear.

Shot on Fujifilm, maybe Super 16mm? the indoor scenes have big grain, no one cared.

Wonderful pastel scenes of Northern Spain contribue to the story, they probably shot enough of it for a return to the start of The Walk. 5/5.

Cheers.
