The Wackness

[Jon Starr]

Wierd movie. Seems interesting. Can't believe it's the dude from the show "Jake and Josh". Completely different character.

Anybody else see this yet? I really enjoyed it - thought the performances were outstanding. The director obviously sees NYC through rose colored glasses, but I get nostalgic for my younger days in the city too... Josh Peck was really good, had never heard of him before but was surprised to learn of his Nickelodeon past. Also, Method Man as a Jamaican drug dealer is pretty funny.

If you dig 90s hip-hop, you will love this soundtrack.

Trying to see it this week. I moved here in 1989, so am eager for some early 90s NYC action. Looks like a cool film too.

I can't tell if this looks really cool or really dumb. Feels like one of those "Great at Sundance but nowhere else" movies. Hope it's good though.

[Luis Caffesse]

It won the Audience award at Sundance, not the Jury award - so that should say something.

Well that is more encouraging.

I saw it at Sundance. I thought it was pretty decent, nothing really noteworthy and surely not in my tops at the festival this year, but I'd give it a 7/10.
