The Village Budget

[Josh_Boelter]

The Smoking Gun web site has posted the entire detailed budget of M. Night Shymalan's "The Village" (total budget: $71,682,974). I just started looking at it, but this is pretty interesting to those of us who hope to move into bigger productions.

I thought you all might also find this interesting.

Cheers,

GOod read... wow... so much money... it's hard to fathom these numbers.

That movie could have been done for less money than that! That's just my opinion.

A lot of movies could be done for less money...just look at what Robert Rodriguez has proved!

thats pretty obscene! On a seperate note , and no offense to anyone who likes his work, but after you see one of his movies, dont you get the feeling they are all similar in a way. He starts a film with a "Truth" that is really a lie and then the big reveal is that the "truth" is a lie. Just curious.

Very fascinating indeed... considering that "The Village" is one of my favorites. Nice find.

Cool. I'm NOT the only one that likes this movie.

wow... see I have a love/hate relationship with this movie... I don't know... I'm still not sure I like it, and I'm not sure I hate it. LOL!

I actually still haven't seen the movie. It's in my Netflix queue somewhere, but it's not in the top 10. Maybe I'll bump it up in the queue to see if "Boy sitting on stump" earned his 13 grand.
