The Used HVX Market

Scale -- the lowest possible wage a SAG actor can agree to work for. At the time he did Pulp Fiction, it was probably around $400/day or so.

But keep in mind, Pulp Fiction won the Oscar for "best screenplay," and it also won "best screenplay" from the Golden Globes and the BAFTA, as well as the Independent Spirit Awards, the Boston Film Critics Society award and the Chicago Film Critics' Association, L.A. Film Critics Association, the London Film Critics Circle, the National Society of Film Critics, the New York Film Critics Circle, and the Stockholm Film Festival. That's a lot of "best screenplay" awards.

what you mean scale?

"...scale" as in SAG scale

Under the currently contract (period from 7-1-06 to 6-30-07) minimum for a guild actor is $737 / day or $2557 / week.

If you are not familiar with the term scale, you might want to consider hooking up with a producer that understands and has worked in this industry.

Make sure everyone else thinks it's a good story. I.E Pay a script consultant to go over it. With 80k and your reptutation to deliver the goods on the line, you can't afford not to at this point.

If I read correctly, and your budget is 80K - you should have the opportunity to use the SAG Ultra Low Budget agreement

Here are the highlights:

NEW Ultra-Low Budget Agreement

Total budget of less than $200,000
Day rate of $100
No step-up fees
No consecutive employment (except on overnight location)
No premiums
Allows the use of both professional and non-professional performers
Background performers not covered

Pfft. You don't want to hire me. You won't see a final draft for like a year or something. I'm still working on a feature I started back in October, dude. I'm not at that level yet.

well colaberation would be good then, i write good stories but its always missing the touches sometimes you know well, we'll talk soon.

Having another set o'eyes to look over something is a great thing. Especially when the other person cares as much as you do. Just got an email back from someone that's, yet again, changed my way of thinking about my feature.

Back to writing for me.

You have my AIM, I'm always on.
