Dont know if anyone else has been following this show, but i just saw the sencond match of the finale and it was INTENSE!
As a martial artist myself i coulnt believe the match i just saw wow ha ha.
anyone else see it?

My god yes that was an awsome show! I knew Diego would take it, but Forrest and Stephen put on a GREAT show. Both deserving fighters.

The lightheavyweight match kick ass. That's the kinda **** that'll get UFC noticed on a big scale. I wasn't 100% on the decision... I thought it could have just as easily gone the other way and Bonner win.

I missed the after fight stuff. They didn't give Bonner a contract too by any chance?

It's a shame about Shamrock. What was he thinking throwing a kick? If he hadn't slipped those 2 times it may have been quite a different outcome. Sucks that the last image we'll probably have of him is a smashed up face.

I got to meet randy whats his name (last name starts with a c, don't know how to spell it), he was the coach of a local wrestling team. the guy is HUGE!

I know a guy who used to train at the Lyon's Den in San Diego with Shamrock. He said that EVERY one of the main fighters training there was on steroids. Either you were juicing, or you weren't going to go very far in that line of work.

Personally, I prefer watching the very first UFC competition. Back when they had actual martial artists fighting against each other using different styles. Now, they're just a bunch of swollen wrestlers and almost all of them fight the same style.

Well in defence of the fighting styles... if you only can fight one style, you will most probably lose, it's kinda like all sports, it evolved into what it is today, which is mixed martial arts, a combo of stand up and ground/submission fighting.

I can agree that a lot of the fighters are or have been on juice. It seems as though this is becoming evident in all sports. I'll go out on a limb saying Kimo does roids, as did Shamrock(not sure if he does them anymore, he's tiny compared to how he use to be).

A guy like Chuck Liddell... I don't know, with his beer gut and overall lack of a defined physique I'd say no, but that doesn't stop him from kicking ass.

As much as I enjoyed the first few ufc's, the sport is way more entertaining now in my pov. With the way it's set up now you can actually get to know fighters and get more of an attachment to the athletes. In the old days you never knew who the fighters were going to be in the tournament, and other than the usual suspects(Gracie,Shamrock,Hackney), there were always 10 guys you'd never heard of and that you'd never hear from again. Plus having to fight 3 fights in one night the guys get way to tired to put on an entertaining show.

I gotta agree that the single disciplined fighters would lose any day to a mixed martial artist. That's the great thing about it and how fighters are so well trained to excell in different disciplines.

OMG, they did man. He just didn't get the car and fancy watch.

I SO agreed with them when they gave them both a contract. For the president of the UFC to say that was the best match he has ever seen is saying A LOT for thier first match ha ha.

I knew diego would take it also, kenny (i think his name was?) won his finals match by luck. He was dominated on that entire match and got a lucky hit. Leeben(sp) would have been a better match, and was who i wanted to take it all.

I also thought Leeben was one of the best fighters, but he has some serious psychological issues. His fuse is just way too short. Hopefully he'll mature and be at his best in the future.
