One of the most interesting distribution models I've seen: let the popular kids see it cheap. Commenter says the max discount is for 400 friends, which is $4.00 off. I'd get $1.46 discount. What do you guys think? Sounds like an awesome way to crowdsource the very marketing of your film...

Do you mean the technicality of it? You could have an automated system that tracks referral links or something similar.

No idea about the technical aspect of it -- that's the catch, as far as putting this model into play yourself. I guess you could always email the distrib and get more info. Looks like Screenlaunch is the group using the distribution model (http://www.screenlaunch.com/news/andyx-4/), but they're partnered with DLSHS (http://www.dlshs.net/), and I'm not really sure how.
