I know that's huge no-no for the zoom, while the servo's engaged, but would that really mess up the focus on the DVX? Just seems like digitally it would be battling, but wasn't aware there could be actual damage.

tilt your cam up and down while in the off position. if it makes a sound like something is loose inside; its a defect. panasonic had a couple of shipments to go out like that. just a heads up.
