The state of Cinema

At the time, WBD was already leaning towards Netflix but Paramount wouldn't go without a fight and submitted the 'hostile' bid...then Netflix updated its own and then I stopped following so I don't know what exactly happened, but it's likely going to drag on if Netflix wants it since they simply have more money than Paramount, significantly more.

Personally, I'd like to see Paramount win. Netflix is huge, but their effect on the media landscape is outsized for what they actually produce, and they consistently make shows and movies designed for audiences with no attention span. Everything they produce is by committee, and if it doesn't get X-amount of viewership it gets canceled or pulled to prevent residual payments. Putting them in charge of the entire WB IP catalog would be awful.
