How did you know my great grandfather was a bootlegger? ;~)
That would be Gwen the sound supervisor. She is one of the great stories. She was primarily an ADR and Dialog editor and managed to move in to supervising. A hard task coming from ADR or Dialog and a very hard task in the worlds biggest boys club. It's a little better now but when she was moving up there were a very small handful of women who were FX editors and almost none who were supervisors. As one pointed out there are no Oscars for dialog or ADR editing. That was a great look at the audio for this new film. It makes me wand to see it now. I have to say that the scenes with the blond engineer woman sitting at the mixing desk drove me crazy! Her lip smacking sounds are a sound person's nightmare. I wanted to give her a class of water.
