the Smith film

Decided to pal with some friends last weekend and we decided to go see Mr. and Mrs. Smith. At first, I was hesitant because all of this paparazzi stuff has made me sick of seeing Pitt and Jolie, but I reconsidered because of Doug Liman. Liman's made four movies--all of which I love. Just as I was skeptical of Bourne Identity, the same was so for M and M Smith.

And just as I was blown away by Bourne Identity (didn't get the Box Office it deserved, unfortunately I first saw it on DVD), I was blown away by Mr. and Mrs. Smith. Its got guns (lots of 'em), it looks great, chemistry is great, Pitt is reason enough to go, and there's a lot of comic relief to balance the action sequences. I can't help but feel that I had more fun watching this movie than any other movie released this year.

Check it out.

I agree with Dinosaur,Inc. It's definitely a summer popcorn movie, its good fun and action packed. A couple of the trailers made some of my movie going groupies think "this might be corny and suck", but luckily it was a blast! Oh yeah and with 2 hot actors, what's not to love!

Same feelings with Liman too. It's cool to see a director from a different sort of background (similar to Greengrass in Bourne Supremacy) take this kind of material and do their own thing with it. It's the sexy action movie of the summer!

Dinosaur - I need to find odd news stories to read on a daily radio show. Today I found one about some guy selling air from Pitt and Jolie. It said he had received bids up to $15,000. Doubtful they were legitimate offers. Odd people.

Definitely a fun popcorn movie.

The audience I was with actually clapped at the end of it. Perhaps because it has been so long since a movie delivered on what was promised. :)

Damn those two (Pitt and Jolie) are watchable though. It's kinda like eating candy cotton - tastes great , but after it's gone you won't remember what made it so delicious. And it's better in small amounts.

I'm getting more impressed with Liman's abilities. That movie could have been really bad if he didn't achieve the right mix of chemistry, genre and comedy.

Although, take my opinion with a grain of salt. I even saw "Tomb Raider" because of the gorgeous Jolie (shhhhhhhhhh... don't tell anyone :))

Angelina Jolie. Hot? Yikes!!

Saw the film last night--I was definitely surprised--the most enjoyable movie I've seen this year.

The opening credits are some of the best I have ever seen--Hilarious!

I'm agreeing. Great summer movie. Lots of action, lots of fun. Good waste of ten bucks and 2 hours.

It even funnier if you've been married a long time.

Best car chase with a mini van I've ever seen...

"Ask the sex question again.... ( *ten* )"

Watching pitt put the boots to jolie: worth the price of admission.

I saw it last night - thought it was a good flick. Lots of action, funny, too. The only thing I didn't like was some of the handheld stuff in the slow scenes. Like when they're in the room the morning after they met. I felt completely aware of the camera when they went handheld in that scene. Also, was it just me or was Brad Pitt out of focus for the two-shots in the shrink's office? Angelina Jolie seemed to be in focus, but he wasn't.

I'd still recommend seeing the movie.

I saw it the other day, and I loved it. The minivan chase scene was awesome, so was the final gun fight in slo-mo with the music. Vince Vaughn had a hilarious character, too, but you saw all his funny parts in the previews.

Gee, the movie was okay! When is someone going to come up with something different?! Hey, free movie, can't really complain right? Plus I saw it with a very pretty date! :)

I saw it yesterday and I found myself laughing. Good enough to buy a ticket (since we cant all see movies for free, heh) But the last movie that I truly enjoyed for the movie's sake was the first Matrix. For enjoyment, nothing has measured up since that one for me.

Although I saw Harold and Kumar go to Whitecastle yesterday from Netflix and I laughed more at that than Mr. and Mrs. Smith. haha!!!!
