The Secret Life of Walter Mitty - Directed by Ben Stiller

[Jon Starr]

Starring Ben Stiller and Kristen Wiig

It's got an interesting look and feel. Plus it's a different ambience for a 'Ben Stiller' movie, I like that though. It seems to be a remake, but never heard of or saw the original.

I also think 'Life' to 'The Secret Life of Walter Mitty' is going to be like 'Fed Ex' was to 'Castaway.'

Never saw the original!...DANNY KAYE.

[Stephen Mick]

I have to say, I'm pretty interested in seeing this. I've always been a fan of Thurber's original story, and Stiller has always shown potential as a director, all the way back to The Ben Stiller Show.

[David Jimerson]

Never heard of the previous movie or the short story?

[Grug]

Never heard of it before, but that's a hell of a trailer. Really interested to see what it's about.

I'm aware but not very familiar with the original story but haven't seen the older film version and will likely see this.

Great trailer overall though. My only worry is will it be one of those clever teaser trailers that is minimalist, yet when we get the official theatrical trailer it becomes apparent that the movie is a big loud dumb fart-filled comedy? Not that those kinds of comedies aren't entertaining sometimes, just that I'd hate to see such a cleverly done trailer turn out to just be a marketing ruse for a routine comedy.

[Denis Haineault]

It has a sort of Forrest Gump vibe to it.

[Jimmy Pierce]

Original adaption from 1947

Though this is 1940s Hollywood film making, and with someone like Danny Kaye, chances are it's a Danny Kaye film and not a James Thurber film. Not that the battle between writers and producers has changed.

From the trailer I doubt this. To have such visually beautiful shots like what we see, and have that fit into a screw-ball comedy just doesn't make sense.
