The Rotting Menace

Hey everyone. I'm new to the board. and i'm sorry to say that I dont' own a DVX... although I want one and will get one as soon as cash allows.

I still thought that I'd share a short video though. Entitled ' the rotting menace '. It was entered into a film festival in Chicago, IL. The fest proceeds went all to charity. It was fun making it and learned a lot from it.

It was shot on a Sony VX2100. Rough cut was done using Avid. Then the final cut and effects/ plugins were done in Premiere Pro.

Otherwise the full site is here:

and most of the videos are under the 'reel' section.

Feedback welcome. :D

Re: The Rotting Menace

what type of budget did you work with? and what premiere plugins did you use?

I really enjoyed the look of it, it never felt under-budgeted. The title sequences were great.

It looked real good. Why the 50 star flag? Im just giving you a hard time. I liked it because I am a WWII reenactor. Thanks for posting

$0.00 .... is that small enough for you..lol :P Actually, my buddy has a huge wardrobe of 40's clothes and uniforms; about 90% of them are authentic, the rest are just made.

So since he had all that stuff then why not use it right? We just had to pay the actors in pizza.. so if you count that, then maybe like $40. lol

and what premiere plugins did you use?

I used a Aged Film 2 plugin , but i cant seem to remember the name of the company. ( RED something or other )I will have to go back and look. It was pretty customizable, letting you take control of the dirt and dust, stuck hairs, flicker, defocus, saturation etc...

hah! I know it's not perfect... but it was fun. Thanks for the feedback.

whos is the narrator? he did a nice job.

Well again to save money we had my friends father do the narration. Yeah, i liked how it came out too.

The title sequences were great.

Thanks. The main titles were done by my friend in photoshop. and the other titles were done by me in after effects including the newspaper. ( and the uber cheesy teeth sparkes lol )

Re: The Rotting Menace

Now i remember. It was DigiEffects Aged Film 2.0. It also came with a Cinelook plug in too... which was not used.
