The Right Wide Lens

Hi,
I'm putting together a 3 lens prime set for my Letus FE. Have a 50mm f1.4 (that I'm actually replacing) and a 105mm 2.5, so now I need a wide angle. There seem to be good options between 20-35mm. What would be the best and why? Most people seem to go 28mm. The 28mm lenses I see out there are f2.8, but there is a 24mm f2.0 and a 35mm f1.4 I've seen. Basically, I'm worried that a 35mm wouldn't be wide enough and I'm wondering if 20-24mm would be too wide (distortion). I've heard 28mm is good cuz it is pretty wide but not so wide that you get distortion. But f2.8 seems like it might not be quite fast enough.
Any thoughts?

I have a 28mm and a 35mm and the 35mm is the widest you can go without getting distortion or vignetting. (both are cannon fd lenses)

I have a 24mm Canon FD 2.8 and love it - very minimal distortion. I'm going to get a 17mm next (expect some D there though).
