The Reality of What you’re Going to Need to Buy?

So the reality is you’re going to want to buy more equipment than just a 35mm adaptor, isn’t it?

What do you really need to get started on your 35mm adventure? What are the bare minimum pieces of kit you need before you can go out there and start filming?

Here’s what I’m piecing together, but help me out…

A 35mm Adaptor.
A 55mm Lens.
A Shoulder Mount as the camera will be twice as heavy and twice as long.
A Monitor that can flip the image because the adaptor will send it upside down.

I know some of these things will be wrong, and I’ll have missed things. Talk to me guys.

I was contemplating getting one (as I do every summer) and this is what I came up with last night:

Brevis w/ rail mount $1,150
Varizoom Monitor Package $650
Follow Focus$650
Lenses $700

I already have a rail system and a CRT monitor for color and contrast, so I don't need a spectacular monitor ($1,500) for on cam mounting. As you can see this is pricey. I would never shoot with an adaptor with less then this package (lenses were a 28mm, 35mm, 50mm, 70-210mm), but it is definitely possible. Still, it is not just scraping up the $1,200 or so for a Brevis or M2...

Also, my lighting budget was separate from this, but it was sizeable because of the adapter. I came to the conclusion to just spend some cash on a few accessories for my DVX and then put the rest into my movie budget.
