Has anybody seen it because I saw the other four nominated flicks and i'm having that undying sense of responsibility to bat for the cycle.

I really don't want to attend a film by myself entitled "THE QUEEN". I guess it could be worse and I could be going with any number of you guys...no offense...NOT THAT THERE'S ANYTHING WRONG WITH THAT.

But i'm just saying. BREACH is out...that nifty "Billy Bob in the Rocket" movie is coming out. Eh...just tell me if it was any good for god's sake. I know it has no chance in hell...but...well...ugh.
 
yeah, I saw it. Good performances, but then again it's Helen Mirren, so it's always a good performance. The guy playing Blair was good too, I thought.

I have to admit though, when I went to see it, I'd heard it was a movie about Queen Elizabeth, and I got it into my head it was Elizabeth I, so was very confused at first...

It was an interesting, but not all that intriguing portrait of the royal family during Princess Diana's death. And it showed how Queen Elizabeth had to come to the realization that Di was so popular, come out of her bubble and see that the world was changing.

All right and fine to watch, but not all that captivating to me. Again, when you have someone like Mirren, it's a no brainer that she can act pretty much everyone else in the running right out of town.

I don't think the movie as a whole is nomination-worthy. Is it in the race?
