Sort of. In the movie, they beat Miami (which didn't exist at the time, and does now, only in the National League, so a World Series faceoff can't happen), and the headline that they won was on October 21st. :) Movie made before the post-season was extended into November.

But if the Cubs win, it would be funny, especially as the plot of the movie concerned a sports almanac.
