I saw them in concert; haven't heard this song in years

Then it got me thinking ? How come we don;t see more conceptual musci videos anymore ? Even from this site ? It's all just performance.

Everyone's trying to make a dollar in a sector that's tanked long ago. I do know of one Director/DP that still tries to push for conceptual music videos here in Los Angeles and I really admire his work.

There's just little money in it, now-a-days, and for most to survive they have to cut back on concept.

I've had this discussion twice in the last week. It's kind of sad.

They want it fast and cheap, especially cheap.

Creativity died when the children of the 80's/90's got in control of things. It's the reality TV generation now, talentless nobodies desperate to be rich and famous shoving drivel down the throats of the trapped viewers.

Conceptual stuff takes imagination and a little time, and both of these are the enemies of profit, and the bane of the young.

Remember, no one over 30 (i'm being generous) considers these of any importance:

When everything sucks there's opportunity.

That Beastie vid is good, cheap, and fun... and definitely conceptual.
