I did a search and did not see a thread already for this film.

That being said, i finished watching this movie last night with the lady friend, and the entire time ( besides the film being absolutely amazing ) i was wondering what format they shot it on. I dare say it is not film, but something struck me as very very very strange about the motion. Almost like 30P..

Anyone have any clue what is going on?

“We (he and Polanski) only had one conversation about the visual style for The Pianist. He agreed that we would try to recreate the realities of Wladyslaw Szpilman’s world. We wanted the audience to feel like they were there with the characters. I watched rehearsals, decided where to put the camera and used as little light as possible.

i read the 35mm format on imdb, but i dont know Hudson, give the film a watch, something feels out of wack with regular 24fps motion.

It reminded me of some stuff i watched on my mothers british television shows. I wish i could figure out what it is about t his film's motion that is different.

I accidentally rented it in 4:3 and the motion/aspect ratio looked really off to me. I think I know what you're talking about Jonathan.
