ok, now i know that the right scene file settings depend opn what the envoirnment is, and where and what your shooting etc, but iv been searching these forums, and it seems to me like there should be some kind of thread where people share there scene file settings, mabey with a bit of footage shot using the settings, and post them.

really, i want to make my dvx100b look as much like 35mm as i can, and scince i dont have the DVX book...(yet) it would really be great if all you DVXusers out there could share your favorite 35mm look alike settings, or just stuff you think looks goo in general

thanks in advance....

35mm settings dont exist. Its got alot more to do with lighting and cinematography than settings. Crush your blacks and avoid any blowouts in your highlights. 24P with whatever the cinema gamma setting is in the DVX (I've got an HVX).

Alot of the user clips discuss scene file settings. Everything changes for every situation though. Just go shoot and experiment. Look at scenes in movies you like and light like they do. Its usually not too hard to figure out where key and fill lights are coming from.

It's all in the cinematography. The camera is really only a medium.

I was watching the original Twillight Zone (the black and white one) yesterday. Some episodes were shot on video and damn it looks fantastic!!!. Only giveaway was the framerate. Despite being shot on video, they light it just like just like how they light for film.

It only futher reinforced the my beliefs that film look, movie look, whatever...comes from lighting, composition, and framing first and foremost.
