The Orphange

Sad, but I'm not shocked. Not that they weren't good, just a sign of the economic times. Anyone who isn't ILM these days are going to have a real rough go in the next few years in the field they were in, if you ask me we really haven't even hit the brunt of the recession yet. Not even close.

it has a little to do with the econemy, but it has more to do with the writers strike. along with many smaller vfx companies opening up over the past couple years. one of my dearest friends last day at the Orphanage will be Friday, I think they are pulling a GKR on us, I think in about 6 months to a year they will open back up, smaller, but still a force.

I think when they do come back they'll have to do things a bit different, no more two month contracts, for one. the companies who are going to thrive are the ones like Pixar who are fully in house, they have no need to worry if hollywood is shooting vfx films down the pipe. and the smaller companies like digital domain, GKR, and Evil Eye. R&H is actually expanding, opening another shop in India and, Malaysia

Thats realy sad. I heard that a view days ago from Michael Rivero and was realy shocked.

I have the feeling they run rather out of personal than out of money, but what do I know.

Hope they come back, I loke what they did.

Frank
