The Official Manhattan LCD HD Monitor Thread

Hi All,

(first of all, sorry for my english, I'm located in France...)
I follow this thread since a long time and i'm really ready for purshasing a manhattan lcd for my config (Canon XHA1 - SGblade 35mm adptater).
I actually hesitate between the small HD071A and the bigger one HD089B....
My principal precocupation is the critical focus with my 35mm adaptater. Is the HD071A 7,1" enough for it???
I'm afraid the HD089B is to big and heavy for a shoulder utilisation (Canon + Sgblade+rig+shoulder cross is more than 8kg sorry 17 pounds for you guys!!!)

Is anyone have good quality pictures of HD071A??

Thanks a lot!

Nobody??

I'm just looking for good quality pictures of the little HD071A (or the bigger one) on rig (to estimate how it will charge my rig) and power on to estimate the quality of focusing...

Thanks again

Sorry my bad english too, I have a HD071A, I use this with the Sony PMW-EX1, this small monitor is very usefull for critical focus and very lightweight. (without baterry attached to monitor). Sorry I have no pictures now, latter I will upload some.

Thanks for your answer Erikcubano!!

I'm waiting for your pics!:)

And so you tell me it's good for critical focus, this is my principal preocupation.
Has you experienced the bigger HD 089B?

thanks again
bye

Ho, and when you can, put some pics power on and focus on something critical (in long focal on a isolated object for exemple) to judge the quality
Thanks!!

Sorry, I have no experience with HD 089B, but for a field monitor I prefeer the smaller the better, quality of the 7" is great :), tomorrow I will take pictures with several tests.

yes the HD071A is good for critical focus and you can add sharpening on the monitor if you like. i just took some pics for you but now i cannot find the connection cable for the computer. When i find it i will upload it. The monitor is lightwieght WITHOUT the battery. I use my dvx battery (the 4 hr one so it its kinda big). you can look into their 5.6 inch model if you want to go smaller. http://www.manhattanlcd.com/category_s/33.htm

this is with my 7D rig. I was focused where u see the white square ("shot by shot"). supertakumar 50mm f2.8

the pics are not all that good but i hope it helps.

yes there is some noise...but that maybe a combination of my 7d ISO being at 640 (which is very clean on camera but a little noisy on the monitor ) and the monitor being a little noisy just naturally. that doesnt bother me cuz i'm getting 1024x600 resolution :)
