This movie is fantastic. The best thing I have seen in a long time. I was blow away by the effects, the story, the acting. My God, it was just that cool.

I saw this a dvd before it got to the states. I showed it to my students about 4 mon. ago. I haven't had the disc back in my hands since then.

If you want the total package loaded with imagination. Get down on this movie.

And it is a trilogy.

Day Watch has just been released in Russia. You know I'm hunting that DVD.

I can't wait to see it on the big screen.

Hell, if you live in NC, come to Greensboro and I'll pay your way.

I was more ambivlent about the film, but still enjoyed it quite a bit. It is completely worth seeing just to see how they do subtitles in the film- they integrate them into the scenes, but subtly, it really works quite nice to keep your eye moving through the frame while reading the subtitle... a very cinematic solution to the "problem" of subtitling.

Maybe it's not a new technique, but I just saw my first film the other day where the subtitles were placed near the actors and it was actually a lot better than having to stare at the bottom of the screen, I think it was a Kar-Wai film, can't remember but I look forward to seeing how this works out in other films.
