The New World

I liked the visuals, the cinematography was gorgeous. The story line....Sad Beyond Reason, the pacing was the most aggravating thing to me this was the slowest movie ever. Overall really didn't care for it there are better films with great cinematography that carry much better story lines and editing. IMO bored me to death.

Agree wholeheartedly. The voiceovers so dam disturbing and poorly written, really came off as cheesy lines.

Again, images were nice but the story and screenplay was lame. Also, didn't care for some of those jump cuts.

i watched it again, recently (first time was in the theatre), to see if there was something i missed or had a newfound appreciation and well, it got way worse. had to turn it off because it was soooooo baaaaaaad!!!!!!!!

Hmmm, this is definitley one of those movies that doesn't have a middle ground opinion. No-one thinks its's just 'okay'. You either hate it or love it. I for one loved it. Didn't think the VO was cheesy or poorly written, those who criticise, I dear you to do better, Mallick is a Professor of Philosophy, he knows what he's talking about, you don't. However, I respect your opinion, because it's just one of those very rare movies that people in 25 years from now will be calling a work of art to remember.

yeah I guess I did like this movie. I loved the editing style, always been one of my favorite styles. VO's didn't bother me. Did feel a little long.

Still waiting for the "english finding discovering america with native americans" epic. This was just more of a love story on the side.
