The new site

Mike,

I like it once it loads. The loader looks really giant, where, once inside, the flash elements are all smaller (better in my mind). It's a small point, but it still bothers me for some reason. Perhaps the loader could be reconfigured to resemble the M Device with a smaller percentage font?

Okay, once you're inside, there is nothing to indicate that the projects are available for viewing. It took an errant mouseover to roll the M windows. If, when someone selects the projects tab, one or more of the M windows jitters or flashes like a mouseover would, it might suggest that the M is our primary navigation device.

Nice reel by the way.

Thanks for the comments. There are changes still being made. Im not happy with the loader at all. That is already being changed. The load time will seem less once the new loader is in place since more will be happening to past the time.

When you talked about the content. do you want something to indicate there is content there? I think I know what you are talking about.

Thanks again

I think either way, you should have a flash and non-flash version. Some ppl like it down and dirty.....

its already in the works --- wanted the flash done first. Dont worry dial-up people & dirty people can see that soon !

Mike,

Yeah, that's what I meant. Where the other parts of the site launch a respective informational or navigational "window", the portfolio section looks, at first glance, like it just brings up the M Device. I like the static-erratic thing you've got on mouseovers - maybe just have a random cube do this once the page loads?

Very cool concept, for the HTML version, i would do the same thing with your logo, just have the images be mouseovers and still images.

You'll need some javascript to check to see if the browser can handle your version of flash and show a message or redirect instead of loading several MB of black nothingness.

This is an old linux box running Opera and flash is at about v. 6. Not everyone is going to upgrade their machine to the latest versions for whatever reasons that might be driving that decision. I used to note that the higher you went in the food chain of a company the less inclined folks were to upgrade software. So the folks most likely to write a check often have the least capable browsers. Something to think about when you intend to use your website as a marketing tool.

In my case this box is reaching the end of its service life and will be replaced with an 8 core Mac. Meanwhile, I'm taking names...

I agree with J Micheal, IMO, Flash sites are annoying and not worth the wait/trouble for the content that follows, and this is a perfect example of it. I still have yet to figure out why people wouldn't make their sites more universal and easily accessible to all. Just because one can impress themselves and/or their peers, doesn't mean your clients will be all that impressed...for that matter, probably half of them won't wait through that pre-loader and like J Micheal says, those are usually the ones cutting the checks.
